ACMA Registered Cablers

The SEAT team includes several Austel approved electricians, (also known as ACMA Registered Cablers).

SEAT is ACMA licensed, holding Master Cabler Licence A028929 and is fully endorsed to provide telephone and DSL cabling within your premises.

Carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) require ADSL / DSL customers to use an Austel / ACMA approved electrician to install or troubleshoot phone and data wiring related to the phone or DSL connection inside the customer's premises. This includes the installation of the ADSL central splitter/filter, and associated cabling after the network boundary.

We can assist with issues at the MDF such as connection problems, or installing jumpers to connect a new phone or DSL service. If you live in an appartment, you almost certainly will have an MDF (Main Distribution Frame) installed in a common area - often adjacent to the car park, or in the bottom of a stair well. The MDF is a cross-connection unit which is where an ACMA cabler can connect your telephone socket and wiring from your apartment across to the carrier's wiring. Carriers include Telstra, Optus, Arrow, and ISPs include Internode, TPG, iiNet, Exetel, Dodo, and many more.

Under the Telstra A2A (Authorisation to Alter), we can also assist with installation and connection of a Telstra NTD (Network Termination Device). The NTD is a biege box which is installed on the outside of your premises, and assists all technicians with assessing wether a fault is being caused inside your premises, or by a line fault in the cabling in the street or at the telephone exchange.

Line noise, interference and intermittent DSL performance are common issues, and these can be solved by a skilled technician with appropriate test equipment.
